A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

The Season Ends
Here's another glimpse of my bike tour of the country roads near our home. I was struck by the forlorn sight of one leaf on the side of the road. The transience of this moment and moments like it - a dying leaf, a setting sun, an impossibly long shadow, a breeze just waiting to repaint the environment - stays with me as I look at this photo. While the surface beauty of a scene may be fleeting, its underlying beauty resonates in our heads for a significantly longer period of time.
