One of my favorite exercises were to shoot textures and surfaces to catch the lights and darks of an object, and to communicate "feeling" through them. I especially liked shooting extreme close-ups to get people to wonder what it was i was taking a pic of. I noticed it because it the way the setting sun cast a differential light across the curved surface.<BR/><BR/>It reminded me of the planet's dividing line between night and day, and I tried to get some of that gradient into the picture.<BR/><BR/>This remains one of my favorite object-type photos from our entire vacation.
