I'd be hard pressed to name a celebrated poet from your neck of the woods besides Leonard Cohen and Marge Atwood.Pregohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02956114382782427084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144424582304677142006-04-07T11:43:00.000-04:002006-04-07T11:43:00.000-04:00Peace, beauty, calmIt also gave me chills.Another ...Peace, beauty, calm

It also gave me chills.

Another gorgeous photo, Carmi.Sariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00962927403449841434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144386688027915712006-04-07T01:11:00.000-04:002006-04-07T01:11:00.000-04:00Lovely photo and Canadian music tidbit.Lovely photo and Canadian music tidbit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144292910285827512006-04-05T23:08:00.000-04:002006-04-05T23:08:00.000-04:00"Crack the Sky" is a song from Red Rider's album, ..."Crack the Sky" is a song from Red Rider's album, Neruda. The work was a tribute to the great poet, Pablo Neruda. The tune is subtitled, "Breakaway".

Tom Cochrane, who founded the band, was originally a journalist who followed his musical dreams to become an icon of Canadian rock music. His music has long been noted for its intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics.

He has been an inspirational artist to me as I've worked to carve out my own writer's voice in a country that is known for eating its literary young. I thought this image captured the essence of the song rather nicely.carmilevyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00360045114379957605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144279880347394752006-04-05T19:31:00.000-04:002006-04-05T19:31:00.000-04:00SmokySilver liningFirmamentI don't know about a ba...Smoky
Silver lining
Firmament

I don't know about a band by that name, but I think that's part of a line in a cat stevens song.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144266768284345852006-04-05T15:52:00.000-04:002006-04-05T15:52:00.000-04:00Light and darkness.Crack the Sky is a band from th...Light and darkness.

Crack the Sky is a band from the 70s?mattviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09701132375537532760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144259098934367672006-04-05T13:44:00.000-04:002006-04-05T13:44:00.000-04:00Paint the sky? by Jimmmy Buffet?Paint the sky? by Jimmmy Buffet?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144246092566178112006-04-05T10:08:00.000-04:002006-04-05T10:08:00.000-04:00Reminds me of my best friend's death, his funeral....Reminds me of my best friend's death, his funeral. I sat and listened and tapped my feet as the two people before me spoke, as special music played on a boom box, as people rose and fell to speak small memories, recite small poems they brought. The salt air barely moved, and every once in a while a lone woman or a young family would wander by our gathering, give us a silent look.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144245231288161342006-04-05T09:53:00.000-04:002006-04-05T09:53:00.000-04:00Heaven and HellCrack the sky.. nope can't place it...Heaven and Hell
Crack the sky.. nope can't place it.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06847431834080815391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144241960556783812006-04-05T08:59:00.000-04:002006-04-05T08:59:00.000-04:00Beyond lies Heaven.Beyond lies Heaven.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7449503.post-1144237166892278562006-04-05T07:39:00.000-04:002006-04-05T07:39:00.000-04:00My words: God's Amazing Wonder.
