A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Beauty redux
Isn't she lovely?
London, ON, November 2007
I take lots of pictures of things. But I'm never happier than when I'm taking photos of the people who matter most, who I love, who love me, who surround me and make me what I am.
I took this one as we set off on another grand family road trip. The kids were belted into the wondervan, everyone was happy and fed, and suddenly my wife was there, and I had to remember that moment.
This picture reminds me that sometimes you just need to pause and remind yourself why the life you lead is infinitely better than anything you ever hoped for. Or deserved.
Your turn: You're lucky because...?
One more thing: I often take pictures of my family. Just because. Here's an earlier one of my wife.

Oooh, Carmi, you are a lucky man. She's very attractive, and I already know that her beauty is not just skin deep! That's a great pic!
ReplyDeletelovely1 Just dropping by to say hello, michelle sent me! ;)
ReplyDeletejust playin' the meet and greet game. ;D
My favourite shots are those ones that aren't staged, aren't planned and really capture the essence of that moment - as someone turns their head and *click* ..
ReplyDeleteI am lucky because I have a loving partner and patient three year old son who let me befriend and play with words ...
She is lovely. I love how this event is a vehicle for recognizing the important role she plays in your life.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy this blog. I am glad that I was able to find it again. I will add you to my Google Reader so I can visit more often.
Thank you for the comment you left on my post. I am interested in reading your articles about the US housing market. Where might I find them?
Your wife is very beautiful. However you don't need me telling you that.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I find difficult to answer your question tonight. I do not feel lucky. I was locked out of my home along with my mom. After running around, I finally got the grill of a window cut and got inside. Maybe I was lucky to find the person who did that at 8 pm!!
Anyway, I am truly lucky to be surrounded by people who love me, whom I love.
Michele knows the exact moment to send me your way.
Carmi - thanks for your comments about my writing ... I'm always plauged with horrible doubts about my capacity to create in someone else's minds eye. Your comments silence those nattering naysayers in my head.
ReplyDeleteThank you - its greatly appreciated. And your inspiring photos have encouraged me to seek out my own photos to put up ... because after all - a picture speaks a thousand words ... new post up there now :)
And snow??? That seems so foreign and exotic (though am told is a total pain in the bum to live with??)
So sweet and yes, she is VERY beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am lucky because I have a very supportive husband that loves me and reminds me daily how sexy he thinks I am, four healthy, mostly happy children and a mom that is the best grandma to my children.
Lovely indeed, and you are indeed lucky. I feel the same way about my children and the ever wonderful Ella.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture, Carmi!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, my four children (soon to be five as Allison is engaged!)ake me feel very lucky. They are great kids and my favorite times are when I can be with them.
Aw - look at that pretty Deb :-))
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky because....um.....I'm reasonably fit and healthy, I have a faithful partner and a close band of friends who I can always rely on.
Michele sent me to see your beautiful wife.

She is lovely. But of course, that goes without saying.
ReplyDeleteAs for me... I guess I could say I'm lucky to have been given so many talents so that I can continually explore the many facets of my creativity.

That's a lovely picture! Sultriness shines through:-)
ReplyDeleteAnd me, I'm lucky because of the moments every day with LOML, Boo and Skibo... not *every* moment, but every day at least one moment, it seems:-)
Michele sent me this time,
N.
I love candid "people" shots....I am terrible at those so I envy those of you that can take those :)
ReplyDeleteI am lucky because: for a time earlier this year I thought that maybe this might be my last year....and that has given me a whole new perspective on life....how I view nature....how I love my family....and what is truly important.
Thank you for your very kind comments on my blog. I really appreciate them.
Hello, Michele sent me...to say since I know nothing about Blackberries - other than the ones you eat - that I should comment on something that I do know something about...Beauty...
