Drip
Laval, QC, August 2008 [Click to enlarge]
It's hard to imagine what's more important than water. Our bodies are made mostly from it. We need to drink it fairly regularly to stay healthy. Our plants won't grow without it. So for this week's Thematic Photographic theme, I'd like to focus on - say it with me - water. I know you'll find new and exciting ways to share photos of the most critical resource on the planet.
Here's a quick primer on how Thematic Photographic works:
- Every Wednesday evening, I post a new Thematic Photographic entry.
- Each entry has a unique theme. This week's is...watery.
- You post a similarly themed image over on your blog.
- You paste a link to your entry in a comment here.
- If you've already posted something that fits (on a blog, Facebook, MySpace, wherever) simply post the link to the existing entry.
- You may post one per day, many per day, one each day of the entire week, whatever suits your fancy. This is all about sharing, so feel free to share to your heart's content!
- Please share this link with friends, too. I want this thing to being photographic happiness to lots of people - and I need your help.
Oh, I love this theme! I just went to the beach so I have lots of water pics. Here is one of them.

Ooh, Ooh... I have the perfect entry for this theme but I'll keep my eyes peeled for more watery images. Stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteYour photograph sets the theme wonderfully. Here are mine
ReplyDeleteCarmi, did you take this? I have been looking for a photo similar to this to create a header for one of my blogs. I would be willing to pay you to use it. I saw one very much like this on fotolia.com several weeks ago and when I looked for it later it was gone. I can almost hear the water splashing...what an incredible shot!
ReplyDeleteWay to raise the bar Carmi. Cutting this down to something like a reasonable number is going to require some pretty ruthless editing. I started with these two. We'll see where things go from there.
ReplyDeleteWater, water everywhere! Let me show you the world's tallest man-made waterfall here.
ReplyDeleteWATERY POST HERE for this week's Thematic Photographic.
ReplyDeleteVery good and interesting theme once again, Carmi! Your photo here and thoughts prime us well!
I may just have something. If not, it's raining right now so I think I can come up with something.
ReplyDeleteChris continues to annoy EVERYONE! LOL
Not playing, cuz I just heard of it, lol, (from visiting Mojo) - but I've bookmarked ya and will be back to play sometime... What an EXCELLENT idea for a group play-along! =)
ReplyDeleteHello! I just stumbled upon your blog yesterday, this sound so fun, I would really like to participate! Ok, it might take me a while but I'll work on it when my kiddos take a nap. (hopefully!)
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Clara
I got so warped trying to come up with a few winners I forgot to mention how much I love the prompt shot. The reflection/refraction of the main body of the shot would be enough by itself to make it interesting, but the ripple in the corner is the coup de grace That's exactly where that element belongs in this shot. I probably would have centered it and it wouldn't have been nearly as compelling. It's almost like the artist had just signed the work as you took the shot. Which - in a metaphysical sense at least -- I suppose is true.
ReplyDeleteHey Carmi,
ReplyDeleteJust noticed your post from last week - Thanks for the visit!
I would love to participate too, but does it have to be original photographs?
I'll be back to post one... I guess I'll pick one I already have on my harddrive because my camera was stolen!
Ok... I'm in.

ReplyDeleteHere's mine. Lucky for me I just spent a month on, in or near the water, camera in hand.
Come by and take a look.
I love water, in photos and in paintings. I just found your post through Robin from Israel's blog.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind if I put a watercolor post here. It's a actually a photograph of my watercolor, so strictly speaking, it's a photo!
Contemplating a Stream
Wow! There are many, many comments already. Well, it is Sunday night and I am just now putting in my TP. Here I am at my son's computer in Norfolk, VA, enjoying the weather, beach, etc. In keeping with the theme this week, most of the photos I am posting are "watery". Come check out a very exciting cruise
ReplyDeleteI'm back with a surprise second photo. Who's surprised? ME! I took it at Taco Bell.
