Shhh, don't disturb the tectonic plates!
Your turn: What three words come to mind as you first see this image?
About this photo: Our weekly Thematic Photographic feature continues here at Written Inc. This week's theme is nature. If you have a nature-themed photo or link that you'd like to share, click here to get started. I promise you'll have fun! I'll be posting a new theme on Wednesday evening, and as always, everyone's invited!
Okay, first three words that came to mind? Rough. Angel. Hazard. That's what I thought but I have no idea what it could mean. I love thinking about Mars.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for visiting my blog yesterday. I'm glad it inspired a blast to the past.Yay!
Dry. Quiet. Chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI just found your wonderful site. I might just participate in this! mari
3 words: Machtesh Ramon Israel (Ramon Crater Israel) :)
ReplyDeletemicroscopic scar anomaly
ReplyDeleteCan I have more than 3?
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of bad skin under a microscope! LOL
My 3 words are: Lets go riding! As an off-road desert enthusiast, I would love to ride my ATV down there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Trails!
Nice. I should always have a soundtrack when I look at your blog, Carmi. Between this image and the music playing in my headphones right now, it was quite a startling combination.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW.

Dry, sandy, beautiful! I was thinking Mars too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
First three words?
ReplyDeleteUmm... "big tire tracks?"
Or how about "Handle with Care"? Yeah, that's better. Amazing how fragile something this massive can be isn't it? Half a continent balanced on the edge of annihilation and all it would take is a good shove... on a geologic scale, obviously, but ((shudder)).
Not knowing for sure where this is, my first three words were "San Andreas Fault", then "Oh my God!" It's a very scary thing to see, geologically speaking.

Nice photo...I got stuck with the 3 words but here they are --
ReplyDeleteIsolated. Escape. Adventure.
Happy WW!
Very other-worldly. Does that count for three words?
ReplyDeletePS Any chance you'd consider announcing the new TP themes in your WW posts? You'd probably get a lot more exposure that way (pun not wholly intended), and it would give us time to gear up :).
Definitely a wonderful textured shot. It looks like an alien landscape.
ReplyDeleteA lot more than three words anyway! That's a great picture. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteBig. Ass. Crack.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I think I'll take my hurricanes.
Dry, Rugged, Arid. :0) Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteScienceproject gone awry.
ReplyDeleteI know. I cheated. Science project is two words...
May I redeem myself by saying its a super cool shot? Please?
Spinal cord injury.
ReplyDeleteDon't know why I said that. Perhaps it's the sinus crud sloshing back and forth in my head...
