A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Thematic Photographic 166 - Triangular
Good things come in threes
Quebec City, QC, July 2011
I think we're in for a pretty interesting week with this theme. I chose it because it's simple, and the planet's been anything but simple in recent weeks. So while Athens burns and Wall Street gets occupied, I invite you to take a few minutes to share a triangular view of your world.
Your turn: Take a picture that includes a triangle - or even suggests one - and post it to your blog or website. Already got one online? That'll work, too. Leave a comment here letting folks know where to find it. Visit other participants and feel free to return as often as you wish throughout the week. Thematic Photographic is our weekly photo theme sharingfest, and we're always happy to welcome more Thematicaddicts to the fray. For more details on how Thematic works, click here.

ReplyDeleteThis was a hard one for me. I tend to like round shapes more.
ReplyDeleteBut here you go:

What a fascinating building, I would surely tour this building, and you captured each window in it's glory...Is it a federal building or something similar? Can't wait to see the others, mine is here

Oh, I just love that roof! It reminds me of the roofs I saw in Bruges - could it be there? Anyway, my offering is here
ReplyDeleteI remembered one I took about a year and a half ago. It took me a while to find it. It's not one of my best, I don't think, but it does fit the theme.
ReplyDeleteLovely rooftop!

Look carefully, and great grand-daddy's moustaches form a triangle.
ReplyDeleteAny interaction between three people often appear to be shaped around the triangle. One or two more and the number expands

Fun with triangles? OK, it’s playtime everybody.
ReplyDeleteSimple, yet as complex as spherical trigonometry. Concept themes are my very favorite! This latest one allowed me to explore photography within a given day and triangulate the people, places, things and all that falls between.
ReplyDeleteHi Carmi! Really love your roof! Well, I guess it's not 'your' roof, but you know what I mean :D Here's my triangle: http://zestoflemons.blogspot.com/2011/10/tasty-triangle.html
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for always having the nicest comments :)
Beautiful series of triangles on the roof- love the patterning.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of triangles jangled around in my head all week. I finally pinned it down.

Took me a while, but thanks to the inspiration of some of the great pictures I saw here, I finally came up with some. See them here.
ReplyDeleteCarmi, am I right in thinking that the latest TP photo you posted is part of this building? A part of me hopes so, but another part of me hopes this latest photo is someone's dream house! I just had to begin my weekend with one more TP post!

Hey Carmi - it is a bit of a stretch, but I can use a recent post to show triangles. If you look here you will see in the second image a little row of 5 triangles. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIn moving files into a new computer I got wrapped up in looking at photos I haven't seen in years. Well, with triangles on my mind I these photos took on all new shapes, so to speak. So here are a few San Diego shots.
