The reason I write about her today is to call attention to her recent trip to the U.S. Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. So much has been written and said about the tragedy and the country’s response to it. But few have managed to illustrate the scene so poignantly as she. Here’s a quick rundown of some of her dispatches from the region:

Hi Carmi- At the moment I am here via Michele. During the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attack I learned it is often good to get an idea what the rest of the world is saying, and not to just rely on American newcasts.
