Morning: Grosvenor Lodge

The landscape now sits under a thick blanket of snow. But on this morning a couple of weeks ago, these trees kept watch over a simple stretch of grass. I'm always amazed how a little bit of time and weather can so radically change the view.

I don't know what inspired me to stop my bike that morning and take this. I think it was the stark shadows on the grass.

Whatever it was, the view no longer exists; testament to why it's so important to capture the image before it disappears forever.

But I bet that the snow is beautiful in it's old, cold way. Me, I happen to appreciate it from the inside, but I hate being out in it.

Hope you've had a nice week, and Shabbat Shalom.

Being Jewish myself, it was, I thought very funny, but also deeply profound. ENJOY! (Let me know what you think...)

Indeed, it's important to grab moments while they're there. Life is continually overwriting how it's been. Great warm-looking picture, relative to now.

Michele sent me. Here's a cup hot soup for your cold.

Michele sent me to see you, Carmi. It's been like a whole day since I was here last!

I love the way snow looks but I moved down south because that's the only thing I like about it! LOL The shadows in your picture are quite photogenic, Carmi. Good eye!

nice shadows--there's a traditional prayer about death that has a line I like that goes something like: "until the shadows lenghten and the day is done..."

Well put, Carmi.

It's a beautiful picture - and I'm sure it's just as beautiful in snow:-) You will have to take a lot of photo's to capture the essence of the place, which is why nothing is as good as actually being there.

I was thinking of doing a time-lapse photo project, myself with that concept in mind. I haven't found a spot or subject yet. I was inspired by a mountain bike I saw continuously decay over a period of five semesters. It was bolted to a bike rack behind the library at the University @ Buffalo. It's owner must have finally gotten a car.

Anyway, it did finally disappear forever and alas, I lost my opportunity.

Hi Carmi!

I love the pic. But I really love saying Grosvenor. It's one of those words that you can't stop saying once you learn to pronounce it right.

Michele sent me.

Hi, Carmi -- Michele sent me. Lovely picture, and I'm sure it's beautiful with the snow, too. It looks and feels like a Spring day here in Dallas.

Oops. I cought a double on your post, Carmi. Sorry.

Michele sent me.

Our discussion a while back about using that word verification is coming up frequently now. Especially now that, as you pointed out, one can use comment moderation.

Hi Again Carmi...
I'm here from Michele this afternoon, but I always like coming to visit you on my own, as well! Did you get a chance to read the Danny Miller piece?
