More bars, please
Laval, QC, July 2011
Do you ever stare at something and mentally calculate all the materials that went into its production or construction? Right now, for example, as I type this on my laptop I'm wondering if the screen is made of plastic or glass, and the not knowing part is kinda bugging me.
Wandering around the burg where I grew up, I came across this cell phone tower and thought it would make for a neat picture. And as I walked around it looking for the right angle that wouldn't blind me for life, I realized just how much metal had gone into this thing. Aside from the plastic boxes holding the communications equipment, it's pretty much all steel.
So for the coming week, I'd like us to explore
metallica...basically, if it's made of metal, please take a picture of it and share it. That's it. Seems simple on the surface, but I know you'll all have some serious fun with it.
Your turn: Take a picture of something made of metal - or find an already-posted pic online - and leave a comment here letting folks know where to find it. Visit other participants and feel free to share multiple metallic-themed pics through the week. For more info on how Thematic Photographic, our weekly photo-sharing extravaganza, works,

I can't think of anything better for this theme than to use this old post from last June, as it's filled with large metal structures.

For someone who's NAMED Titanium, this theme is full of the Awesome. I'll work on it and come up with something- for certain. :)
Metal? Hmm, let me think. Do I have anything that is made of metal, lots of metal, that I love to take pictures of. I know. And anyone that can guess before I take the pictures tomorrow gets a free 1 year subscription to my blog.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with too!
I've never seen a better looking cell tower (and what a sky!)...some towers are way too gigantic! This is a great theme Carmi, so many metals, some many kinds of metal and so little time!
Here's mine

For the time being a will link up to an old photo that I took, full of metal, although I was taking a picture of the water bottles.
Here is the link :) http://sara-myeyeinphotography.blogspot.com/2011/06/water-supply.html
Metal? Let's start here. And I'll bet I can come up with a few more wandering between Naugatuck and New Haven. After all, we used to known for more than just pizza and colorful autumn leaves!
I've posted two oldies that I've used before : http://afreshstartwithkalei.blogspot.com/2011/10/tp168-metallica.html
Hi Carmi! Here's some metal from me http://zestoflemons.blogspot.com/2011/10/gears.html
And wow, what a great structure you've captured :)
An amazing metal pic, Carmi!
My heavy metal shots are rusty and clumsy, not bright and shining...
I’ve been on the road and in the air for the last couple weeks, for work, and the pattern is likely to continue. Along the way, I managed to snag a shot for this week’s theme…
Hmmm that link doesn't work - I'll try again
Here are mine, not exactly what I planned, but that's the way things go sometimes.
OK, let's start nice and easy. If I hike out of the woods just a little bit, I do stumble over some serious metal.
Carmi, that is a gorgeous shot! I never thought a cell tower could look so good! My entry takes us from the age of cell towers back to the days when parents yelled from the porch for the kids to come in for supper... here is a TOY made of metal. Imagine that!
After standing on the side-lines for a number of weeks, I am in this week. My post can be found here :

Mo' metal for ya here.
One more for the road. I drove by the construction site, and couldn't help but stop and watch for a while.
We found some old kitchen utensils this morning. Can't believe we actually used the tools shown here.
A little late this week but I managed to ‘steel' myself and find some metallic links in a chain!
Oh and here’s the actual link!
I stretched on this one, but I spent the whole night at the Chevron waiting to go take these pictures, so here they are: Burned Metal.
here are some old shots that i rather like...and they are metallic...
Mine will be up on Wednesday... because I am a procrastinator. ;)
