Zach was three when I took this. He's ten now, so you know I've been in a nostalgic mood lately. I've always loved this picture because, well, just because. Don't we all want to be in that very same warm and comfortable place with our beloved blanket?
Your turn: Where/when/how do you find peace? Please paint the picture for us...
sweet picture-- it reminds me of how much I want to nap right now :)
ReplyDeleteOne of the best pics you've put up to date. Great shot, he looks soooo peaceful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet pic!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a precious picture. They always look so angelic when they are sleeping.
ReplyDeleteI know you said you don't do memes well, but I tagged you at my blog. I think you will make an exception for this one--especially considering your nostalgic mood:-)
Pretty much the same way I did when I was little, curled up with a favorite blanket. But it's even better if I am sharing the blanket with one of my daughters!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful boy you have there. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteWhen, where, how do I find peace?
One of my favorite places is at the kitchen sink in the morning. I stand there washing dishes and I look out at the sky. The trees outside are swaying in the breeze. Squirels are chasing each other up and down the branches and I watch as I wash the plates, glasses and silver ware. I think about how beautiful our earth is and simply thank our Heavenly Father for its beauty. Some days it is raining and the rain drops fall from grey clouds in the sky. There is such beauty in the simple things of life. It makes me slow down and relax before the start of a busy day.
My sweetest peace was in Yosemite on a deck, in a little cabin in the woods. It was bliss. Calm, quiet, and I'm in such need of it right now.

That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen I need to find that place, I go to the laundry room and sit on my dryer. Why, because it is in a room somewhat seperate from the rest of my house ( a muddroom in the olden days) It is quite unless the dryer is on and then it is just this soft white noise of clothes swishing and zippers and bottons making themselves known with a gentle tinking. The room smells divine because of the downy and the bounce dryer sheets. And because the back door is open for fresh air. It just soothes me.
Love the pic Carmi!
ReplyDeleteAs for peace and where do I find it, well it is quite simple right now. Being 7.5 months pregnant peace is my bathtub. Warm water with lots of Sesame Street foaming bubble bath.
Ahhhh :)
So beautiful. Peace: lying on a soft towel on yielding sand, hot sun on my closed eyelids, a light warm breeze on my skin, the sound of gentle waves breaking, the smell of the sea. Doesn't happen often enough though. My hammock in the garden is a reasonable substitute.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is awesome ..So precious ...
ReplyDeleteThe cool thing about being that age is how easily peace is found ..
I found as you get older it gets a little harder to find total peace :)
I would have to say thoughI always feel the most at peace in nature ...out in the country or on the beach ..or lake ..
You are a true artist, and the worlds greatest dad in my opinion.
ReplyDeletePeace: "At the end of the day," when all is finished, Peter is in bed sleeping soundly, I sit here in silence and all you hear is the buzz of traffic outside and the wind blowing through the buildings in our neighborhood and through the trees.
This is my nightly ritual. It is quiet, peaceful and listening to ones heartbeat is possible.
Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhen do I find peace? Exercising. Bathtub. Laying next to a loved one. Talking to loved ones.
Gorgeous picture!
ReplyDeleteI have a cuddle pillow that I sleep with every night. I cannot sleep without it! And yes, I'll be 36 on Monday. :-)
I have to admit Carmi, that until I read what you wrote, I thought it was a picture of Noah.
ReplyDeleteEverybody keeps telling me that NOah is looking more and more like Zach and I never believe them. I guess he does.
They are both beautiful (They do look like you!!)as is their sister.
Absolutely no prejudice here!
