Dilithium loses its lustre
Sad news from the world of entertainment: James Doohan, who played Scotty on the iconic Star Trek series and subsequent films, has passed away.
I didn't find out about this until about two hours ago...even though I only got to see TOS in re-runs, that's still the Trek I grew up with. Scotty was a big part of my childhood.

ReplyDeleteAs an engineer, I have a special place in my heart for Scotty. He was one of the first fictional icons of the field. May Mr Doohan rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteI just heard. How sad! In college my friends and I used to make jokes about how to make people think you were a miracle worker...
ReplyDeleteSleep Sweetly Mr. Doohan
