A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Canine naming convention
Hypothetically speaking, of course, what would you name a dog - male, female, your pick - if you were to adopt one and bring it home?
Would you be considered insane for even contemplating such a thing?
Doogie if it's a schnauzer or Sophie if it's a Boston Terrier. We are itchin' to get a dog but we're currently overrun by cats, so the plan has been shelved for now. The one name we absolutely wouldn't use? Buddy - the #1 dog name in America in year's past.
I have to see the animal before a name pops into my head...though the last dog we had came with a name, and so did one of the cats. Sometimes you just don't get a choice...

We are contemplating adopting a dog. I like the name "Pete."

ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to get a bull dog and name him Dennis. I don't know why. Or possibly Zaphod. But not Arthur. Never Arthur.
ReplyDeleteOur next dog will be named Scout. Yes, from To Kill a Mockingbird.
ReplyDeleteI like typical human names for dogs. If it were a male, I'd probably go with Gus, and if I adopted a female, she'd be Shirley.
ReplyDeleteHello, Michele sent me! This time, anyway!
ReplyDeleteDAVE is a great name.
But if I were getting a new dog, male or female, his/her name would be BISCUIT.
