The weakest link
I discovered this suspended cobbling of hardware on a local bar's outdoor patio. The place has the coolest name, too: The Alex P. Keaton.
Your turn: I feel the need to photograph other everyday examples of hardware. Any suggestions?

Interesting.. but hi from michele's weekend meet n greet!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite fond of door hardware - knobs and hinges and such, but that may be fancier than the sort of hardware that you have in mind. I also like the large bolts and metal connecting plates on industrial equipment.
ReplyDeleteI'm here from Michele's this time.
I don't know about good things to photograph...but I wanna go to the Family Ties bar! Think you can move it south? :)
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me....this time!
I love the hardware on cabinetry.
ReplyDeleteI sent myself! :)
Here via Michele today. Hardware, huh? I'm another fan of doorknobs as well.
ReplyDeletebtw, post for you at my site
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me! Everyday hardware, huh? I would like to see you photograph one of your hammers in the hands of one of your little children. I think the juxtaposition of big and little would make for a great photo.
ReplyDeleteCrankshaft on your bike...those often look cool in pictures...
ReplyDeleteAny buildings being built near you? Pictures of the steel girders or the framing of a new house might be cool. Michele sent me.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me. How 'bout a sewer cover?
ReplyDeleteHere from michele.
ReplyDeleteThere are worse compulsions to have. The photo is well composed. As good a shot of a cable and eye hook as I have ever seen.
Do you have to wear penny loafters and sweater vests in that bar? Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOld door hinges are always interesting, as well as the twists in chain link fences.
Michele sent me (again).
I just LOVE the name of that bar. How fun!
ReplyDeleteAs for hardware, how about going to a jobsite, and taking some pictures of the concrete formwork. Really interesting engineering and hardware during those stages of a project.
visiting from michele's
Her from Michele's.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great eye in your photos, you make ordinary things look very interesting.
Why is the bar called the Alex P. Keaton? That's funny.
Michele sent me...I had to google Alex P. Keaton as I'm hopeless regarding pop culture, so I learned something today. I understand your affinity for hardware. How about door knockers as subject matter?
ReplyDeleteHi everyone. I'm posting this on behalf of Maria, who was kind enough to e-mail me her comment. If you haven't visited her site yet (http://silverfox-whispers.com/), you're missing out:
ReplyDeleteNames depend on the personality of both the owner and the dog. My Aunt Mary said, "Name it something that sounds okay when you call it loudly". (Actually her advice was for naming children, but it works equally well on pets.)
Not heeding this good advice, I once named a cat Pussy Paws...big mistake! Can you imagine calling that cat in from outdoors. So all in all, I think my next pet will be named Jake. It has a reliable, no nonsense sound to it and can be shouted with dignity and pride.
