Today's quote

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Mark Twain

Your turn: I hope you'll take a couple of minutes to share one of the following (or both):
  1. Three words that this quote makes you think of.
  2. Another inspirational quotation that you've come across and would like to share here.

  1. Hi Carmi!

Ok, this is a quote from a book, and it's attributed to a man, rather than a woman. But I've always thought that it was beautiful, and hope that my husband thinks of me in the same way.

"I am nothing special; of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough."

  2. That's a great quote. It really helps me, because I am really bad about being afraid of change.

  5. "It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad,
it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday
and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.
    Let us, therefore,
Live but one day at a time."

From the poem Two Days We Should Not Worry by an unknown author.

Somewhat different from the put you face to the wind and look to the future that your quote seems to be saying. That quote reminds me of the week I left home for graduate school and I never looked back.

  7. I currently like what Green Day sings:
"This is the dawning of the rest of our lives...
    This is our lives,
    On holiday"

  16. here from michelles again, the only saying i can come up with right now is one my great grandmother used to say all the time "Keep your pecker up!" of course in the old days pecker was your mouth (kisser) so it meant keep your chin up, but either definition is nice!
