A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Cat's in the stable
On our journey to visit the horses (see this earlier post for background on Noah's interesting day at the stables) we came across this sweet little fellow. He lay quietly in the hay for the entire time that the birthday party kids were there. Only on the way out did we notice him in his solitary spot.
He didn't move a muscle. He simply looked at us until we quietly headed out for cake and swimming. Something tells me if I went back to the stables today, he'd still be in the same place in the hay, safely tucked away from whatever nasty things the world would otherwise do to a cat.
Your turn: Where's your pile of hay?

awwwwww, he reminds me of our old cat Butterball.
ReplyDeleteMy place in the hay is hmmmm... I would have to say my house when the boys are gone and I can take my time in the shower and no one is hollering "Mom!!"
:)
I haven't found my pile of hay yet. . . but that one looks awfully nice.
ReplyDeleteMy cat's pile of hay is wherever there's a cardboard box.
Michele sent me. . . again.
What a lovely looking kitty. Nice shot too. My pile of hay? The bathtub, which I'm sure wouldn't appeal to the cat *at* all. :)
ReplyDeleteCute cat...!
ReplyDeleteI Have a picture of my kid's cat curled up in a large glass bowl yesterday, aparently trying to find a cool spot. My place in the hay is a hammock out beside my house. Children keep beating me to it though.
Here from Micheles.
Ewwwww he's soooo cute! Okay his posture on the pile of hay reminds of my little puppy George all tugged away comfortably in his little basket.
ReplyDeleteMy pile of hay? The leather reading chair and the ottoman in my study. Go figure. :)
My pile of hay? My precious, precious library. And our cats love it, too!

Michele sent me again, Carmi. She's incorrigible.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a pile of hay, sad to say. My home comes closest--the specific area or room doesn't matter much since I live by myself--but it's not quite pile of hay status either. On a good day, being in a kayak on nice water qualifies but that's a place you can't reliably find again.
The picture of the cat is great. He does look so content, Carmi.
He looks like several cats I have had in the past.
ReplyDeleteI think my pile of hay is one of two places: either in the hot tub at the health club - or on a beach in the tropics!
I've been out of town the for the past 48 hours so my hay is about to my super comfty bed and oversized bed pillows. Ahhhh, even with golden retiever fur all over them there is no place I'd rather be. So I'm off, but not before I tell you that Michele says hi.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me again, Carmi! I think this is the 5th time today....LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL. I posted the other day that it was in a closet... Seriously, my hay is on my bed. At the end of the day, curling up with my pillows and/or hubby and kids is bliss to me!
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me!
he look whit face short friendsly. Best he will alane
ReplyDeleteI used to have a picnic bench north of Niagara Falls, overlooking the gorge. I used to like sitting there with friends, relaxing and making chats.
ReplyDeleteI think it's time to re-visit it. I haven't been there in six years.
My pile of hay is in my bed with my cat Fred, who looks a lot like the fellow on the hay, and my other cat Shelby.
ReplyDeleteSaturday mornings sleeping in and waking up to spend quality time with my furry family members makes me very happy.
Such a sweet face...What is it about cats that just warms the heart? I bet you are right about that, too, Carmi....
ReplyDeleteThat cat seems to be doing what all carts like to do.
ReplyDeleteMy own bed is my pile of hay, although hay on it wouldn't do it a lot of good.
Michele sent me here.
Ginger & White cats are the best.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here with my son going "RoWrRoWrRowrROWR", and pointing, all the while wanting to get "up! up !".
Unfortunately, we harbour the more neurotic B&W strain of cat here, and they hate 2yr olds....
We have been looking for a runaway persian tyoe cat around here over the last 2-3 days.
ReplyDeleteNear neighbours have issued a picture of a cat that looks more like a miniature tiger. I hope its also found a quiet spot somewhere like this one and will return.
My pile of hay is in this big purple chair I am currently sitting in.
ReplyDeleteI just go lay out in the yard with a book.
ReplyDeleteCarmi, you haven't said Michele sent me at lamb yet, but I am just going to assume you're going to soon.
LOL. It is late for the Michele game, huh?
My hom is my pile of hay.
ReplyDeleteA home with 4 well-loved cats, one of whom looks very similar to that fellow. I love that photo. :)

I love to sit outside in the backyard in the big adirondak chair, reading and sipping a good cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteMmm...I think I'll go do that right now!
