More reasons to celebrate

It's a busy birthday week in our house. Dahlia celebrated her ninth yesterday, while Debbie marks another one today. She always calls Dahlia the best birthday present ever, and I can't say I disagree with her.

Note that I have not actually divulged her age. In the interest of self-preservation, we'll omit any mention of numbers. But as you can see from the picture, she's just lovely.

As I write this, Noah is buzzing around her in the kitchen. A very tired young lady has just wandered into the kitchen, and somewhere in his room, Zach stirs quietly as he shakes the cobwebs from his huge blue eyes. And here I sit with a laptop, trying to commit the scene to memory so that I can always remember what family feels like.

Your turn: I hope you'll drop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday. She loves when friends drop in.

  1. Watch out, those 9 year old girls are tricky critters. Mine has been nine since June and I'm still trying to recover.

  2. I didn't realize your wife had a blog. I'll be sure to bookmark her and read more often!

Carmi, I just wanted to let you know that I admire you writing and your photography. You are one of the few people who find pleasure and beauty in the simple things life has to offer. Most people breeze right on over them, but not you! Kudo's to you, and happy birthday week to your family!!
