To be a fly on the wall

They don't have much of a brain, and they tend to be on this planet for about as long as love lasts between Hollywood's latest power couple. But sometimes I find myself looking at a flying insect and wishing I had the ability to fly, to stand on walls and ceilings, and to watch and listen to whatever's going on.

It's funny how those beings who have the ability to fly don't much appreciate the significance of this gift.

Your turn: If you weren't human, what would you rather be? Why? (Yes, it's an odd one. Sorry.)

  1. Hey Carmi, Michele sent me (but you know I caome here a lot anyways).

I would really like to fly also, so if I were not a human, I would like to be a hawk or something. I don't even have to be a bird of prey, I could be a cardinal or robin. Maybe even a duck.

Now if that doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind being a dog.

  2. Hmm. This is a tough question. I would say either some kind of majestic bird like a falcon or a panther. A falcon for the ability to fly & soar through the sky. A panther because they are sleek, sexy & dangerous.

  5. I think I would like to be a bird. You could fly and be able to eat your weight in the food you like without really gaining. Sometimes when the wind is strong you could simply spread your wings and glide with the air currents without expending any excess motion and energy. That has always looked relaxing.

  6. Wel, I wouldn't want to be a fly, that's for sure! LOL
It's mighty quiet on the Blogs today...at least it seems so over at my place...
Well, let's see. I think I would probanly want to be a cat who lived with me in my house! It's a really good life, and who wouldn't want that?

  7. I would like to be a cat. A well-loved and cared-for cat. Why? Cats are so independent, but can give love. Cat owners so often take WONDERFUL care of their cats (I would definitely want a good cat owner, as well). I could sleep all day, play all night, eat and drink, curl up anywhere and make my owner feel great when he/she is down, and they would reciprocate.

  8. I like the concept of flying, but I would much rather spend my time beneath the sea, so perhaps a dolphin or maybe a jellyfish, since I wouldn't have to worry as much about protecting myself and still enjoy the underwater world.

  9. A cat.
    Think about it.
    Nine lives!
Lay around all day and do nothing but eat, sleep and ...
    use the litter box.
    Just surfing blogfriends tonight.

  10. I would want to be a bird I guess. Flying is indeed one thing I would love to do. Imagine going to different places, meeting lots of people (only they would not understand me). Maybe, I would like to be a talking bird then who can fly long distances...

  11. I am all for the well-kept cat idea. Imagine that the hardest task of the day was to find a ray of sunshine om the floor and then go to sleep all curled up! Wonderful!

  12. If I were not human, I think I would like to be a tree; one that blooms periodically and brings lots of enjoyment and fruits to the humans around it, one that lives a long, long time.

  13. A humming bird would be my choice. They are very aerodynamic and aerobatic plus they spend all day flying from one flower to another, hopefully smelling along with drinking their sweet nectar. Maggie :-)
