A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Waffley goodness
And in the morning, I'm making waffles...
December 2006
My aunt makes waffles that make you wish every meal could be breakfast. Before I tucked in this morning, I wanted to grab a picture of it so that I'd remember the moment. Doesn't this make you want one of your very own?
Your turn: If you could meet my waffle-wizard aunt, what would you tell her?

It looks like an industrial strength size waffle! Unfortunately I can't do waffles for breakfast. I need eggs or meat to keep me awake.
ReplyDeleteI missed you on the meet and greet, Carmi, so I'm just hear to say Happy Holidays!
OK, did you see Shrek? When donkey says that exact same thing? I love that part of the movie...it is one of my favorites....I mean my kids favorites! Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteDear Waffle-making Auntie,
ReplyDeletePlease smother mine with strawberries and syrup. Can you make a sun out of it, too? Maybe use the strawberries for eyes?
And thanks!
Sincerely,
Me.
Now I'm HUNGRY.
I would tell her that as much as her waffle looks delicious (and it's round, as a waffle should be), I ate too much pie and pizza yesterday to deserve a waffle. And I prefer pancakes.
ReplyDeletePlease come to my house and bring some strawberries with those waffles...hehe
ReplyDeleteI would tell her - never stop making them yummy waffles - the picture put a smile on my face - thanks!
ReplyDeleteSince I am a "waffle-whiffer" from way back, I might ask her to turn on the waffle iron and start making!!
ReplyDeleteYum! Pass the boysenberry syrup please!
ReplyDelete*best yiddish accent*
ReplyDelete"such a nice boy, that Carmi, you must be verrrry proud"
I'm thinking "teach me, O Carmi's Queenlike Aunt of Waffley Goodness, that I may walk in thy ways and make thy waffles!" Would just about do it.
ReplyDeletecome live with me, I'll make your life very comfortable if you provide me with an unlimited supply of these waffles.
ReplyDeleteAnd Carmi - it's quite cruel to put something on your blog that you can not readily share with those of us less fortunate. My waffles come from a box. sad, but true.
i would like blueberries on mine please :)
ReplyDeleteI would say, "Auntie, keep fighting the good fight."
ReplyDeleteSeeing your photo brought back memories. The smell of bacon, the sound of eggs frying and the wonderful metal clang of the toaster just before receiving a perfectly toasted slice of bread covered in butter!
Wow, how comforting those times were and still are when we actually manage to squeeze them into our busy lives.
Auntie keep up the good fight for the continuation of life-calming breakfasts! The care you show your loved ones realy matters!
I've been really lucky. Met a lot of people face to face from online. Even went to Brooklyn and met a group for the first time after talking online for years, it was a surprise for his 30th birthday.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too! :)
you take wonderful photos
