It may not do much for energy efficiency, but it sure looks pretty.
Your turn: Warm lights at night. Please discuss why they appeal to us so.

They give us a cosy feeling, I think.
ReplyDeleteOr it can be something entirely opposite. They tend to dispel the thoughts of eerie shadows.
I think that lights can add so much to a home at night, with the proper placement! In some instances it shows the architecture off, with outside lighting reflecting back on the home. More often I think it gives a warm feeling.
ReplyDeleteDuring the day, the architecture plays second fiddle to the bustle of the crowd, at night, with the lights, the architecture takes center stage.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why; they just do. I'm a big fan of nighttime vistas where I can look out over the city and see the pretty lights.
ReplyDeleteHey Carmi,
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff as usual, man. Very cool that you've been in China for a while. I think night shots are great because they usually give us some dramatic lighting and they force us to use a tripod and take time to compose our shots. Is that a good answer...? Haha - hope you're well, man.

I think that the soft, subtle lights of night time are accompanied by a slowing down of the day, when things are more peaceful. It also seems to say, "I am home, settled in, cozy." Anything that gives off a glow against the dark is beautiful: candlelight, a fireplace, fireworks, twilight. It all speaks of romance and being 'home'.
ReplyDeleteI love the richnes (is that a word?) that the lights give to this building. It is appears golden.
ReplyDeletetotally love the warm tone sin this hot..reminds me of Milwaukee downtown i visited long back...
