Wordless Wednesday - Bananarama

Fruity pebbles
Toronto, ON, November 2007 [Click to embiggen]

Yes, I know I'm in a bananariffic mood these days. Click here for more recent banana-ish fruitography.

Your turn: Favorite fruits. Please discuss.

One more thing: Quick media hit from the Canadian Press - Business software used on iPhone developed at SAP in Montreal. Byline LuAnn LaSalle. Here's what I said:
Analyst Carmi Levy said that SAP is positioning itself to be ready for business demand for the iPhone.

"If the iPhone never had a hope or a prayer of being adopted by enterprise, I doubt that SAP would be devoting resources to it at this point," said Levy, senior vice-president of strategic consulting for Toronto's AR Communications Inc.

"There's no question they see something," he said of SAP.
More news on this front over the next couple of days, including a possible TV interview. If you want to see me be a talking head, check back here later tomorrow.

  2. I concede the defeat, Carmi; you discovered my 'secret'... Not that I was particularly bright for having found out how to be first in the Linky thing! :-)

That was a nice post, by the way. Happy WW!

  3. Great photo. Your words remind me of that great song from the 60s my cousins used to sing... the Banana song? Can't quite remember it, but it was the banana name song.

  4. Beautiful photo. I love the little dent in the banana. It adds so much more interest than if the banana were "perfect."

Ok, a few of my favorite fruits: banana, strawberry, mango, pears, watermelon. At least this post is making us hungry for healthy food! ;)

My post is here if you'd like to visit. :)

  5. As I was saying in my blog, the ice storm is bad in here! And the worse part is that I have to go to a hospital in Toronto for work tomorrow! But then I get to stay because I'm going to Ace Frehley's concert! Y'know, the guy from Kiss...

    Happy WW!

  9. Interesting choice of photo...particularly that you wouldn't choose a "perfect" fruit. I kinda like that.

My favorites? Perfectly ripe melons, fresh pineapple, strawberries and apples picked at just the right time.

    Mmmmmm!

(My WW is up...amazing that at the stroke of midnight I'm still in mid double digits!)

  30. We were talking about SAP at the gym the other day...funny what goes around in life, huh?

I love cherries the best but only when they're in season. We pick blueberries every June and they taste just like flowers to me (good flowers, that is). The only fruit I don't like is papaya. It just tastes nasty to me.

My son and my cat are featured today. Happy Wednesday!

  31. "click to embiggen" that made me laugh. Your banana post just in time for my low carb diet. Can't we all just get along? Jen

    ReplyDelete
  32. Pineapple! I love most fruit.

I'm getting ready to make fruit salad with a banana, an orange, and an apple.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I LOVE Bananas too...And I would have a hard time picking a favorite fruit. Right now it is The Fuji Apple....(That is what is very tasty these days...But, I LOVE Red Delicious Apples, too...! (And they are Very Very Good for you....)
Honey Do and Cantelope, when they are in season are sublime....Red, Green & Black seedless grapes, ALL quite wonderful...! Too hard to pick a favorite though!

  34. Bananas have long been a favorite of mine, too, and my husband's. I'm trying to eat more fruit these days, though, so I've also been adding apples (particularly Golden Delicious), grapes, and strawberries. But I'm trying to expand my horizons, too, so I've thrown in a couple pears and nectarines, and am attempting to try others, as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and your words of encouragement, Carmi. I'm still reading friends' blogs, too, though I haven't been commenting much recently, either. I hope to have more time for composing both entries and comments in the next month or so, but as you mentioned - it should be complimentary, not mandatory. Thanks for the timely reminder. :)

  35. That one small blemish says so much, doesn't it? Do you throw something away because it's flawed? I think not. *smile*

Hope your week is going well, Carmi!

  38. Great shot. Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. :) And my favorite fruits are pineapple, strawberries, and grapes. Bananas and kiwi are the only ones I don't like at all!

  39. Bananas are my favorite fruit for two reasons. One, they taste great. Two, they are easy to eat and you don't have to was them. Oranges, apples, peaches, cherries, and grapes are too much trouble. Bananas are a lazy man's fruit.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I use to love bananas but as I grew older the taste isn't the same. I will eat them occasionally but not like I use to. That's one big beautiful banana!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm a sucker for a good mango! It takes the hand of God for me to eat a banana...great shot anyway!

  45. Great photo Carmi... while I love bananas, my favorites are crisp, preferably a bit tart, apples (love a good Granny Smith), fresh strawberries from right here in Lousiana and rasberries. I like most fruits actually but those are my favorites. Thanks for stopping by my site!

  46. Great shot. My favorite fruit is/are grapes. LOVE them!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and do come back.

  47. When I was growing up, the watermelon was my favorite fruit. My aunt and uncle had a field of watermelons, and after they were finished selling to the market, they let us take some. Mother and daddy put several in the trunk of the car for the trip home.

Today, I would say that my favorites are pineapple and mango.

    ReplyDelete
  48. My favorite fruit is the banana. My favorite thing to do with the banana? Dip it in chocolate. Especially in fat-free pudding. It feels like I am splurging, when it is really quite healthy. Yummm, I want one now!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Love bananas! Great shot. A "talking head" with bananas!

  50. Bananas are yummy ... especially with peanut butter! That was my daily snack when I was preggers. I also love blueberries, strawberries and mangos.

A delicious - and rarely eaten - fruit is a star fruit. They are beautiful to photograph too!

  51. You caught that one at a perfect moment. Our guinea pigs love bananas. Or they love my daughter and help her out by eating what she leaves behind so SHE can leave behind a clean plate.

    Beautiful work, as always, Carmi!

I love bananas too and watermelon and strawberries and nectarines and mangos and raspberries and apples sometimes, grapes. Also love cherries, though I don't get to have them often any more for some reason. Fruit is good. And pretty too. Cool.

  68. Carmi, you're the last person I expected to go all food-porn on us :)

Seriously, I like the fruit shots. As for me, I'm an apples-and-peanut butter kind of girl. I like bananas, too, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh, nice banana!

My favorite fruit is the apple, particularly the Cortland variety. My second favorite would be the pineapple, but only if I get it straight from the farm in Hawaii!

  74. After I saw that shot I tried scrolling in my past post's for my bannana shot, well that and flowers atop a table up in the mountains by a lake...but search as I may, I couln't find it. The bright yellow of the fruit makes everything sorta' peachy :>}even for a bananna.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hmmm...my favorite fruit? Well, I ADORE fruit...but grapes, mango, pineapple...those are some of my favorites. I think I could eat any fruit, any time...except maybe for kiwi! ;) My son is a HUGE fan of bananas though!
