Aaaand we're back. Hope you enjoyed the piece. As we fast-forward to 2010, it's worth mentioning that we still have these crackers in our cupboard. Not the same crackers, mind you, as they'd likely be stale by now, and the 2-year-old referenced in the piece, who is now 9, would not be pleased. Nor would my wife, as I suspect she'd be upset with me for allowing the kids to eat really outdated food.
But I digress.
Bottom line is I love the damn things. They make me happy when I eat them. And heaven knows we all need more reasons to smile. So when I pulled these out at lunchtime, I took a few minutes to pay them an appropriate level of photographic respect.
They made the rest of the day just a little brighter.

ReplyDeleteThis may be hard to believe, but I;ve never had one of those Fish Crackers. And now, I am deeply afraid I would get hopelessly addicted....lol!
Wheat Thins are a favorite...!
I've never heard of goldfish crackers before! We tend just just have plain old crackers here.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Christie Vegetable Thins. They remind me of my Grandfather who is long since passed. He always had a box beside his chair in the rec room, and I would sit in his lazyboy chair and eat his crackers when I was small. It was one of my favorite things to do, and a fond memory.
ReplyDeleteI think that mankind's greatest culinary inventions were beer in a can, the Oreo cookie, the cheeseburger, and Ritz Crackers. (in that order)
ReplyDeleteWasn't one of the Goldfish ad campaigns something about "the snack that smiles back"? Or something like that anyway.
ReplyDeleteGlad these aren't 8-year-old crackers. (Odd how that was my first thought too.)
And yes (yes YES!) we could all use more reasons to be happy. And it seems we find them in the simplest places. Like crackers.
