Red rose, not the tea

If flowers have to have a hierarchy of desirability, I'm going to go out on a limb and say roses top the list.
Wouldn't you?

roses are beautiful but they are not my favorit..love the color though
ReplyDeleteWell, if you are a Monarch butterfly, your preferred flower... in fact, the only plant your caterpillar children could eat would be the milkweed. Then again, the milkweed flower is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I love the gardenia even more than the rose. But that is just me.
I don't think they top the list. They are extremely beautiful, but due to some Hallmark Holidays, roses are overexposed and over-gifted. I prefer the flowers that are harder to get like orchids, birds of paradise, etc.... Roses are beauty, but too commercialized.
ReplyDeleteFor others. I prefer daisies. They are just happy.
ReplyDeleteWell... if you're talking about in general, yeah I guess they do. If you're talking about personally they're a little too formal for my taste.
ReplyDeleteWhich does not, in any way, detract from this photo -- which is exceptional!
I'm too distracted by this photograph to answer coherently.
ReplyDeleteWhich is pretty amazing, since I am partial to iris.
Roses certainly have a long history of symbolism. I love them, but the roses I love are not the conventional long-stemmed red rose. I love the old fashioned roses.
ReplyDeleteRoses are beautiful and you have sent me some stunning ones, but tulips are my favourite.
ReplyDeleteAs always you photo is spectacular, just like you!
xoxo
