Reflective birthday. Encore.

Someone else in our house is having a birthday. My wife's completion of another spin around the sun comes one day after our daughter's special day. Our only girl certainly doesn't need another reason to be connected to her mom, but it doesn't hurt that they share consecutive-day birthdays.

As my wife has always said, Dahlia was the best birthday present she could have ever received. Which makes any present I ever try to get her seem woefully inadequate. But I'll keep trying. Because she's neat.

Your turn: If you haven't met her, click here. She's much nicer than I am.

  1. Looks like you have a tall order in finding her a birthday present! I have been leaving comments on her blog, it is interesting and from the heart. Our son was born two and a half hours before our anniversary, so we have our own consecutive thing going on!

  4. My son is 35 very soon. He has always loved words and creates with them, as you do. I'm sure each parent has a list of phrases or words their children created as they learned to speak.
Here's one. When my son was about 3 he called an extension lead "an inplugger and outpluggerer."

Glad to have found your blog

Look at your gifts as icing on the cake...the cake being your kids...
