Thematic Photographic 135 - Letters

A night at the movies
London, ON, February 2010
[Click here for more background on Thematic]

You read the title correctly, folks: Thematic is back! I took a bit of time off from our weekly photographic sharing activity (see here if this is all Swahili to you) because I think I needed a slight change of pace. But after being away from it for a couple of weeks, I realize I've missed it. I guess this crazy little photo-thing of ours has grown on me.

I'm going to make things easy for this week's theme: Anything with letters! That's it. If it's got something resembling an alphabet, in any language, in any form, in any order, then I hope you'll share it over the next week.

Your turn: Post a letter-themed pic on your site - or find something you've already posted online. Then leave a comment here telling folks where to find it. Repeat. Visit others. Drag your friends into the fray. Enjoy the highly cooperative, absolutely non-competitive process. Because it's all about finding new ways to view the world through a lens.

  1. Once upon a time, I found some abandoned letters -and a few snails, on a drive in south London.

  3. This week, I've got letters aplenty. In fact, they're all frozen to my face.

Also, I'm glad you brought Thematic Photographic back around. It's a Good Thing. There are far too few of those, these days.

  6. Carmi

What a photo, reminds me of the blizzard of 78. My hometown had its own movie theater. My brother, dad and I walked a few miles to get to the theater where we (bro and I) happily enjoyed our first Monty Python film “The Holy Grail”. My dad ROCKS!

I have some letters of my own. Different memories, still good.

  10. Why is it when we see things like C i n e m a in big red letters or a huge billboard along the freeway with a bunch of luscious green grapes ... we begin to crave that very thing? Think outside marketing now....and indulge yourself into something...anything!

  11. So glad to have Thematic Photograpic back. I don't know if this fit exactly but I wrote a letter to my blog friends drew a picture to go with it, scanned it and used it as my post. There are plenty of letters in my letter.

  18. It isn't my best picture, a little fuzzy even as I was trying to be clandestine... no one feels comfortable photographing parked cars in a Walmart lot... but I did... take the photo, while feeling uncomfortable about doing so.
