A brief-yet-ongoing journal of all things Carmi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll reach for your mouse to click back to Google. But you'll be intrigued. And you'll feel compelled to return following your next bowl of oatmeal. With brown sugar. And milk.

Thematic Photographic 160 - Shopping
Conspicuous consumption
Laval, QC, July 2011
Thematic goes shopping this week, and we're hoping you'll find a bit of time to do the same. As you can imagine, shopping can be interpreted six ways from Sunday, and you've got a whole week to play with your camera and come up with your own take on it.
As you can see, I've been to the grocery store. This time, anyway. Where will I go tomorrow? Not sure yet. Drop back in to see how this develops.
Your turn: Are you feeling like a shopaholic? Either way, post a shopping-themed pic to your blog or website - or simply find something you've already posted - and leave a comment here letting everyone know where to find it. Repeat as often as you wish through the week, and feel free to invite your friends along for the ride. Thematic isn't a competition: It's a fun, non-competitive way to spread our photographic wings a bit. Are you in?
If you're new to the Thematic thing, click here for more info on how it all works.

Here you go, Carmi. I got all my ducks in a row for this one for you. ;)

Shopping. My least favourite pastime - well, it's up there... The shopping trolleys in your picture tell me exactly why I hate it, Carmi - great shot!
ReplyDeleteHere's the first post on this topic. There will be more!

ReplyDeleteMine are here, here and here
Now this sort of shopping appeals....
By a strange co-incidence I’ve just written about a rather older-style of shopping on my blog. I’ll be out with my camera during the week and will post a link back here, but in the meantime regulars may enjoy my sepia shops from the family album. They certainly highlight the contrasts with today’s shopping experience.

Shopping!
ReplyDeleteNot one of my favorite past times. It took me less than 25 minutes to buy 2 pairs of shoes for the new school year. And that was because I couldn't make up my mind between two pairs.
But I can spend a couple hours in Home Depot just buying a can of white paint. Click on the Shopping! above to see my pictures.
Here's my second collection of shopping pics, some from Italy and some from here in New Zealand
ReplyDeleteShopping? Don't make me do it!
ReplyDeleteHere's my second Shopping set.
ReplyDeleteI do much of my shopping with my mouse, partly out of convenience and partly out of necessity. So here is my (quirky) take on the theme this week.
