Shades of orangeish

Mapled brilliance
London, ON, September 2011

About this photo: Thematic. Autumn. Here. Go for it.
It's been a rough week capped off by a rough couple of days, and I need to look at pretty things to compensate. I'm still running on the proverbial treadmill, so it'll take me a day or two to catch y'all up on the rather eventful day I had yesterday. For now, I hope this tree is enough to brighten your day.

Your turn: How do you find comfort when the world offers none?

One more thing: If you're atoning for anything you've done over the last year, gmar chatimah tovah. Whatever you're celebrating, may the coming year bring only goodness to you and your family. May we all find the health, happiness and life that we deserve.

  1. I am not Jewish nor am I even religious but the atonement period really strikes a chord with me. It is such a personal and difficult thing and I admire those who can do this effectively.

I always find peace in anything of nature.

  2. I find that by concentrating on my blessings and looking for the good and beautiful in life makes all the difference in the world. I used to keep a gratitude journal and it is amazing what we take for granted-from our family and having a roof over our head to little things like warm showers, smiles from strangers. Just to many to name, I always tried to put down at least 3 things to be grateful for but sometimes it would end up being a whole page even on 'bad' days

    .
    Simple answer: family and friends.
So far in my life, no matter how bad things are there have been family and/or friends that help me decompress, problem solve and laugh. Laughter is very comforting.

  5. I find comfort in family and friends, but there is a saying.... "Let God fill you up when you are empty."

  7. Thank you Carmi....for this simple lovely tree.... is spot on! ...Max said it all so very well too, in his comment, but he forgot to give a mention to all our blogging buddies...who simply my camera's life and myself would be so much less if not for this.....! Happiness and blessings are falling all around us, we just have to scrape a few up... ;)

  8. Karen - You're absolutely right, and I'm sorry I didn't mention it. A lot of times, after an especially rough day at school or otherwise, I love to get on the computer and check out what my blog friends are up to. I get a lot of comfort and kudos from the comments everyone gives my posts, and from reading and responding to the things you all post about. Even though we're spread to the four corners of the world, this is a great little community we have here.

  9. Carmi I find comfort in nature, yesterday I was in search of comfort and posted some of my pics here . I found solace, not so sure about comfort though. I think it's time to get reconnected with the Creator, He's wanting time with me.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
