"Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like."Why are we so concerned with what others think? I realize we all want to be accepted, to a certain extent. But somewhere along the way we seem to have lost the script.
Will Rogers
Wouldn't it be neat if we spent less energy worrying what folks think of our cars, our clothes or the last tchatchkeh that we bought, and more time simply trying to be better people with what we've already got?
Yup, thought so.

ReplyDeleteIt sometimes takes a lot of effort to get yourself out of that mindset - you can find yourself in it without thinking about it. In fact I think that's one of the fundamental pieces of attitude maintenance that sane people have to perform regularly - remind themselves that there is much more to life than fancy cars and phones.
ReplyDeleteYep!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely....and keep reminding myself about what really matters.
