On the complex relationship between success and failure

“No man ever achieved worthwhile success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure.”

  1. I've got a "my left foot" tag on my blog. Mostly it's my left foot, photographed over a cliff.

  2. I LOVE this quote, I can totally relate to it. Thanks for sharing this Carmi, it 'normalizes' the struggles I have from time to time. The midnight hour comes to mind, the day before a paper is due and I'm still writing at 5am, no time for an edit and bam it's time to be handed in. Somehow I've done amazingly well with those types of papers, it's the ones I give myself too much time to do that I edit the hell right out of them and miss the mark. Such is life... this quote now comes to mind:

"Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia"

    ~E.L. Doctorow

    ...... so write on!

    Have a wonderful day!

    Cheers.
