We're very much spongeworthy

This isn't just a piece of sponge cake.

It's something our kids look forward to every Passover.

It's another specialty that my virtuoso-chef wife has been making for as long as I've known her.

It's something she learned from her late mother.

It's a source of comfort for us when the world seems to offer none.

In other words, not just another piece of cake. But an example - one of countless - of what makes our little family unique. Of what binds us together. Of what sticks in our minds and hearts long after the last crumbs have been eaten and the dishes have been washed and put away.

It's a small part of the story of us. But in this family, even the smallest things, like this slice of cake, seem to matter far more than they might appear at first glance.
