Before the munchies hit London, ON August 2020 This photo originally shared on Instagram |
Behold this humble pile of Fritos. I know they don’t look like Fritos, because these are O-shaped and not...hang on, how DO you describe regular Fritos, anyway? Wavy?
Whatever they’re called, or however they’re shaped, they made for a fun, five-minute diversion from the dark clouds that have hung over us all for too long.
Which is why I wanted to share them here, now. Because the planet is a jumble of chaos and meanness these days.
Yes, that’s always been true to a certain extent, but it’s safe to say a few well-known global factors are adding to the perception, at least, that the snow globe has been shaken somewhat more violently than average.
So we look for places of refuge, spots, places, moments, both where and when we can somehow find a snippet of happiness.
Today's place of refuge was this scene of corn chips on my kitchen table. I know it seems trivial, but I promise you it’s not.
And for the record, the Fritos were excellent. And they made me smile. So, on balance, worth it.
