As the snow begins to fall

There's a moment, soon after the snow begins to fall, that it accumulates just enough to show details and patterns, but not enough to blanket everything in sight.

Which is fascinating, because we've become conditioned to snow being this monolithically white entity that erases detail on a mass scale.

A closer look tells a different story, though. There's so much going on in the tiny spaces where we rarely bother to look. And we risk missing out if we continue blithely on our way.

I'm pretty sure this spontaneous life lesson, number 83,261 in our ongoing series, applies to more than mere snow. But whatever the medium, I plan to slow down just enough to capture the hidden details. And the stories hidden within them.
