Two squawking geese

What you can see: two Canada Geese feeding nonchalantly in the grasses beside the Thames River.

What you can't see: our very unhappy dog expressing her displeasure at their presence.

I can't blame the pup. To shake things up a bit and give ourselves - and her - and bit of a break, we took a walk through the riverside parks that wind their way through London's downtown core. To call this network of green a jewel would be inadequate, and we're lucky to have it so close by.

Alas, it isn't perfect. Geese being geese, they've become fixtures here, so much so that when pre-pandemic me commuted through here by bike, their presence was likely the most dangerous part of the trip. Seriously, they're nasty, angry, frightening birds. Stay away.

Calli, however, feels differently. She was quite literally built to hunt these beings, and no amount of treats will sway her stubborn Schnauzer self away from them.

It made for an entertaining walk, as a wound-up Schnu is an adventure that words simply can't describe. We'll try some video in future so you can get in on the fun.
