Seriously, I'm reasonably certain the unnamed and invisible retail employee who set up the feather boa display wasn't harboring subconscious thoughts about the French flag.
But there was something about the sequencing here that made me linger over the feathers.
I don’t know why. I’ve learned to stop asking.
