Long after it fell off the tree.
Long after it faded into a crinkly, forgotten mess.
It still had a story to tell.
I keep thinking this singular leaf holds a broader lesson for us.
I keep thinking we need to shift our understanding of what is and is not beautiful.
I keep thinking this is the year we’ll finally figure it out.
Perhaps not.
