Something in this photo makes me think of those frightening moments. Yet at the same time this particular scene brings me comfort, as we were surrounded by the warmth and kindness of friends the moment it was captured.
As is so often the case when I shoot abstract scenes, I can’t explain any of this.
But I certainly feel privileged to get to stick my lens close to the flame and wait for something magical to happen.
