Catching up with my equine friends

There’s nothing like a fast ride through the country. The earlier the better.

Add horses into the mix and we have the ingredients for a perfect morning.

So I took a time-out from pedalling and stood in the tall grasses by the fenceline for a few minutes. And I just listened - to the winds blowing through the grass, the horses munching on their first snack of the day, the occasional neigh.

There’s a soundtrack out here in the country that’s easily missed if we don’t stop what we’re doing, and on this blisteringly hot Sunday, I was thankful to have had the opportunity to do just that.

Soon enough, it was time to get back on the road. The horses barely looked up.
