It’s impossible to ever know how it ended up here. Or why. But I enjoyed a brief moment of silent mystery while all the possibilities played out in my head.
I did feel the need to say a silent prayer before continuing the journey, however, because it never hurts to wish a stranger peace while they navigate the world with unprotected hands.
Or perhaps without any of the tools we all take for granted.
