Forged in history

Carry the weight
London, ON

75 years ago, in a gigantic foundry that towered over an industrial corner of Montreal for generations, this section of rail was cast in fire by workers who are in all likelihood no longer among us.

Today, this ribbon of steel carries trains safely to and through this station in southern Ontario, the signature of its origins invisible to all but the most curious.

The forged messages from another era linger silently in the shadows, proof that echoes from the past are everywhere.

We just have to look for them.
