Plugged in London, ON March 2025 This photo originally shared on Instagram |
In fact, I sat down on the floor for this one.
It was an older building, with delightfully imperfect stucco-clad walls, lit by the kind of light that seems to paint surfaces in monochrome.
It’s the kind of scene we usually walk past on our way from here to there - or ignore in favour of everything else competing for our attention.
I get it: we’re busy. So ordinary things fade into the background. There’s only so much time and energy to appreciate it all, and a standard electrical outlet hardly rates.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t shift our gaze every once in a while.
Because we get to decide what does and does not rate.
Because there’s beauty not only in the obvious, but in the subtle.
Told you I was weird.
