Thematic Photographic 2 - Snack food

Call me overly simplistic. Baskin-Robbins may have their 31 flavors and the kids may spend too much time fingerprinting the display case at the local Laura Secord as they weigh the relative merits of chocolate chocolate chunk and fudge chip swirl, but I'll always be a sucker for a soft vanilla cone with nothing on it.

What's your favorite snack food? Is it cold, hot or somewhere in between. Sugary-sweet or oh-so-tart? If you're not really supposed to be eating it, I hope you're taking pictures of it.

That's what Thematic Photographic, our new weekly photo sharing thing, is all about: exploring neat new themes through our lenses, sharing them with others and maybe expanding our own optical horizons a bit in the process.

Here's how Thematic Photographic works:
  1. I post a new entry every Wednesday.
  2. Each entry has a theme.
  3. You post a similarly themed image over on your blog.
  4. You paste a link to your entry in a comment here.
  5. Delirious photo sharing and happiness ensues.
Last week's TP entry was automotive. This week's is snack food. What's next week's going to be? I'm all ears.

    Love soft vanilla ice cream. My fav is Dairy Queen.....and it comes with memories of heading there after playing ball when I was in high school. :)

    Carmi, there are way too many choices for me to narrow it down easily: salty, buttered popcorn, peanut-butter cups (preferably with popcorn), butter pecan ice cream, butterscotch pudding, blackberry cobbler (my dad used to make the best ones!), chocolate-covered pretzels...
    I could go one and on - but I have no photos of any of it. I'll have to remedy that!

    God, I'm such a sucker for bad foods. Ice cream, chips whatever. I just found this new bakery that makes cupcakes to die for. Yummy

    At age 31 and with a growing family, I finally have to watch what I eat. Here it is though....my snack of all snacks... (and this WAS a snack back in the day, not a meal...)

    now that kind of icecream I do like :)

    snacks I love savoury - salted popcorn, kettle crisps, slithers of cheese - especially french ones..

    life has been so hectic I have missed catching up with you here...doesn't mean I haven't been thinking of you guys though, Katie

    Well, shoot! Although I saw this picture in Bloglines (and salivated), I didn't have time to read the text. Sounds like a fun carnival you're initiating.

    Since my "precious" (my beloved Nikon) is in the shop, my point and shoot (on its last leg) is all I have. Would you grant me the liberty of linking to a former post with one of my favorite snack foods? Truly, I have half a dozen or so, but this one I was inspired to write a sonnet about! (No worries with skipping the text to see the photo itself).

    well, since we don't eat ice-cream, chocolate bars, fudge sticks (yum) and a whole lot of other goodies that we used to eat when we were younger, we have substituted our snack food with

    I love craisins as a snack food, but fundamentally salty and greasy really does it for me. Mmmmm... chips!
