Wordless Wednesday - You say tomato...

Juicy fruit
Delray Beach, Florida, December 2007 [Click to embiggen]

This is the final photo in support of this week's Thematic Photographic theme, bright. Between the color, texture and composition, I think this may be one of the brightest photos in my archives, and one of my favorites. I hope you like it, too. (And, no, it's not too late to go back in time and share your own brightly-themed image. Click here to get involved.)

Your turn: The ability of a brightly-shot photo to change one's mood. Please discuss.

One more thing: I'll be posting the first entry in support of NEXT week's Thematic Photographic theme on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Eastern. Next week's theme will be "quiet", and I hope you can take some quiet time between now and then to think about how you'd like to interpret it.

  4. Indeed, I do say tomato! I say they are Nature's candy! My absolute favorite fruit (don't argue with me... it's a fruit!). Lovely, lovely, photo, Carmi... but aren't they a bit out of season? Is this from the archives? Oh, just read the caption. Still... December 2007 is still December. Florida is a magical place. I want to go to there.

    Happy WW, everybody!

  6. Now those look like I could pluck 'em right off the screen slice 'em nice and thick with some crisp bacon and lettuce on wheat toast.

But right now, I'm watching Les Boys give my Canes a power play drill. Guy Carbonneau has to be nursing an ulcer right now. Penalties are 11-0 through two periods and there's 30 seconds of a 5-on-3 carrying over to the third.

    Weird game.

  7. Love the tomatoes! YUM. Makes me miss summer fruit. :-)

I worked at a convention at Delray Beach a few years ago. I had such a nice time there. Lovely spot.

  10. I think you made smarmoofus' day. When she says she loves tomatoes, that doesn't explain it well enough. I've seen her eat a whole bowl of tomatoes for a snack. I can't remember what kind. They weren't cherry though.

    Great bright shot. ;-)

  14. Funny that you used tomatoes, at least for me. My wife made a big a** lasagna for everybody tonight, but I had to cook a different dinner for me, because she forgot tomatoes give me heartburn (no, seriously)...

My post is here. Have a great day!

  28. Tomatoes are a spectacular red, arent they? And you've captured the magic of that red in this photo.

My new photo blog has a very bright photo I took as its header. Sometimes when I go to it, I just sit back a bit and say "wow"! It gives both a jolt and happy memories of a very bright sunny day in Nova Scotia this summer. One of the nicest, most relaxing vacations of my life.

    Nice work, Carmi!

    Peace.

I needed that to lift my spirits. Too many hospital visits lately and I know you can empathise with that.
