Windows not by Microsoft

Two by two
Deerfield Beach, FL, December 2008

I often wonder what folks think about when they sit beside a window and look out. This picture makes me wonder even more. I hope they're not as sad as the tone of this image would suggest.

Your turn: You're looking out your own window. What are you seeing? Thinking?

About this photo: This is the last in this week's drab series. If you'd like to submit your own, feel free to click here. Looking ahead, the next Thematic Photographic theme goes live tonight, at precisely 7:00 p.m. EDT. To whet your photograaphic whistle, the topic will be...

Reflective

The fun starts tonight. Are you game?

  1. Reflective huh?

I see some interesting potential there. Very!

Looks like I've forgotten to put my links up for the last couple of "Drab" shots... Sometimes I just can't keep up. But better late, right? So:

    Thematic Photographic 42: "Drab" v.5.0

  5. When I go up to see my mum & dad, I'll usually stop a little past halfway in the Leicester service station. The restuarant (well - KFC and BK...) there is on a bridge over the motorway. I like to munch there, looking out the window watching the cars go by :-)

Other service stations on the route tend to have their windows looking away from the road - not so interesting.

  6. "Drab" but could tell a story as well. It can make a person wonder what the people on the other side are seeing when they "look out".

  7. Carmi, does the photograph for Thematic Photographic have to be monochrome?

  9. what do i see out my window? If i am standing in my living room, i look out and a part of the Saint John River valley....an everchanging vista of colour and light. Across the river are some homes, but also some farmland. There are a few islands too in the river and in the summer they are filled with the cows from the farm. You can't see them then because of the foliage, but you can hear them AND see them when they decide to swim from one island to another! HOnestly, they do....and not only that....they get in an orderly line and enter the water one bovine at a time. :)

  10. Mary: The picture can be anything you wish. Color, monochrome...it's entirely up to you to decide how to interpret a given theme.

  11. I have joined your group with a photo of "reflective." I have a lovely photo of Ella when she was baby.

  12. "I'm looking out of the window and seeing my babies. I'm seeing them grow up all over again and I've been watching their lives unfold and grow. I'm seeing my wedding and I'm watching my husband. I'm seeing the last visit to my home before I moved here."
Well...strictly :that's what I will write, when I can no longer see and am getting this via voice activated technology.
