Another form of junk

I've chosen this week's Thematic Photographic theme, junk, because I find myself tossing lots of it these days. Whether it's the stuff you haul to the curb, the stuff between your ears or a strange combination of the two, we all probably carry around more than we'd like, and we'd all do well to lighten our load.
As evidenced by this photo, junk can also be eaten. Are peanut M&Ms necessarily junk food? I don't believe so. But lose the sense of balance - i.e. eat them for breakfast, lunch and supper to the exclusion of everything else - and you'll be well on your way to achieving your own junk definition.
Still, as my wife chatted by phone with my mom and tried to explain to her that her son was at it again with his camera, I realized that we can either treat our junk with disdain or look for the opportunity to have some fun with it. On this day, I chose the latter, and as you choose your own interpretations of junk, I hope you do the same.

Last month while traveling through Elizabethtown in the Adirondacks noticed this sculpture in front of the Adirondack History Center Museum. The artist Edward Cornell titled this work, "Angel of Inerrancy Conveying Meaningful Souls to Hell".

ReplyDeleteI took a more literal approach, although I suppose I could have used the "junk" metaphor to describe the first 2 periods of the Hurricanes game tonight. However, since I was not at Nassau Coliseum, I couldn't actually get a photograph of that example. So I decided to use one from last December that I took on a trip to a junkyard. Well, actually a farm. With a junkyard.

M is absolutely not junk for me. I LOVE them. I can´t keep them for more than a short minute before they end up in my mouth. No junkrisk there ;-)

You made me laugh, Carmi as I recalled an old M&M commercial where some little kid fools a much taller adult into thinking he has a handful of M&M's to share with him. The reveal is an open hand that is empty and the adult realizes he has been had! You had to be there. It was very funny!! Great post, as always. :)
