Wait, I lie. I'm not using a pen.
I'm using a laptop. The last time I wrote something from start to finish in pen was probably in high school. And I'm sure my English teacher went blind from trying to decipher my scrawl. Typing's definitely my thing now, so I'm not sure why I still cling to the notion of "picking up my pen," but I guess it's easier and more artful than "picking up my HP laptop."Yahoo! I remember a Black Fri. 9 years ago.. The mall was deader than a doornail...I can;t speak for all malls but the few I have gone to, have nothing that great that i would shop for.. In fact online, the deals are better and many offer free shipping... so u save on a trip to the mall, avoid the crowds that aren't really buying- just looking...
ReplyDeleteI have been reminded as to how much we rely on this technology and that this dependence may not be such a great thing. My brother travels constantly for his opera career. When he returned from two weeks in Germany, his internet was down... and it was a newly installed system. But, not only was the internet down, the phone line was down as well. He had only four days at home before having to leave again.... Austria put him in a "que" for repair. SO! Suddenly he realized that all of his banking business and the travel vouchers and business e-mails, permits,... basically everything.. he does on computer. With the phones down he can't even get the faxing done. Do you think we have too much invested in our technology?

Since you're here... which would be the best e-reader for an 82 year old, only mildly computer literate woman. Nook or Kindle. She has been talking about one. I was hoping the 3G Kindle would be a Black Friday sale like the WiFi Nook.

as a Stater, we used to go to Canada to shop for stuff as the rate of the exchange back then was favorable on the US side of the coin so to speak...
i never even considered that canadians would shop here, but it makes sense with the devalued dollar and all that...
i loved the line about loonies...
oops my bad...i dont know where i saw loonies line but i thought i read someting about it in the reving up the car or firing up the lappy..but i re-read the article 2 more times and it must have been an attack of free association friday...

ReplyDeleteSRP: Kindle. It's simpler. I was a little more effusive on your blog. And, yes, I believe we rely too heavily on it. To wit, if the power goes out, companies grind to a halt. We've wimped out.
