It's been an awful couple of days, with Bell Media swinging the axe and decimating both the CJAD Montreal and NewsTalk 1010 Toronto newsrooms. Lots of good friends and brilliant colleagues lost their jobs through no fault of their own beyond being in the wrong spreadsheet cell at the wrong moment.

It hurts, again, to watch Canadian journalism be summarily dismantled by those who wouldn't understand the difference between a lede and a lead, or appreciate the crucial impact of journalism on the communities it serves.

So here's my sleeping dog, Calli.She plays hard, and she sleeps even harder. And we need happies like this, now more than ever.
