They say we should keep returning to the places that mean something to us.

I'm still not sure who "they" are, but I'm inclined to listen to them when it comes to this.

Which explains why I keep coming back to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre here in London. Our kids learned to swim here, which echoed my own experiences learning to swim so far away and so long ago.

Any time I'm near a pool, I find myself drifting back to those resonant years when our kids were first learning to love the water.

Inevitably, a camera comes out. And you know what happens then...
