Bike. Art. Same thing.

Let's ride

Look closely.

This isn't a real bike. Not even close.

It's wall art, and I found it a couple of years back inside the community pool clubhouse not far from my aunt and uncle's house.

It has a lovely south beachy vibe to it, the perfect machine for a world where nothing is ever rushed, and there's always a swaying palm tree and good friends and family to be found at the end of a comfy cruise through the neighborhood. I like to imagine what gets toted along in the basket out front. Hopefully snacks.

I think of this bike often, because it's a great example of something small that kind of burrows its way into your soul.

And every once in a while, it pops into your mind to remind you there's always a better day ahead, where you'll get to ride on a real machine to a real place with real people who will be elated to see you. And you them.

I call these anchors of hope. They can take on any form. Hold onto your own. And don't let go.
