Where the trees paint the grey sky

Not as empty as it seems

Canadians complain endlessly about the weather, particularly when it's winter.

While I'll admit to joining the whinefest when it gets particularly cold and yucky, I still think the season offers up more happy faces than sad ones.

To wit, the treeline. Removing leaves from the equation opens up all sorts of fun possibilities. Like this stark silhouette of branches against a foreboding sky that makes me want to run for cover.

Summer doesn't offer up the same visual palette. So instead of complaining, I'll take the camera out and make the best of it while it lasts.

Rules for photography. Rules for life. Is there really any difference?
