Soon enough that battle will be over, the protective cover just a memory, the winter skies free to dump their snows unimpeded. Another season, another reality.
That probably explains why I keep returning to places like this. Because every day here serves up a different story. Because nothing here ever really stays the same. Because you never know how you’ll feel until you walk this path.
Change is the only constant here. Then again, that’s just as true outside the forest as it is within it.
Sometimes we just need a gentle reminder.
